Albuquerque, NM – In front of a packed Hard Rock Casino & Hotel Showroom and before a live pay-per-view internet audience MMA fighters clashed in the cage at the inaugural Jackson’s MMA Series I event on June 5th.   The show featured DJ Landon Dyksterhouse spinning and mashing-up music.   The internet pay-per-viewing provided a unique on-line fan experience with fan interactive chat and video sharing.  Look for Jacksons MMA Series II coming September 4, 2010.

The card featured four Professional Bouts ( Isaac Vallie-Flagg vs. James Mead was cancelled due to transportation problems for Mead) and six Amateur Bouts.  Coach Jackson and Coach Winkeljohn corned both amateur and professional fights.  Also assisting Team Jackson were Team Jackson fighters Jon Dodson, Clay Guida and Joey Villasenor.  In attendance were Cody “Ox” Wheeler, Holly Holm, Kyle Noke and Carlos Condit. Jackson’s MMA fighters finished the overall card with an 8-2 mark.

Pro Card

In the Main Event at 105 lbs Natasha Creger from Chute Boxe in Long Beach, California stopped Grudge/Jackson Fighter Jennifer Berg from Denver, Colorado via arm bar at 3:47 in the second round.  The contest was a battle of strikes with plenty of knees before the fight was decided on the ground.  Both fighters were extremely aggressive as promised.  In the Co-Main Event at 135 lbs Jackson Fighter Matt Leyva from Albuquerque, New Mexico delivered crushing strikes to Gracie Arizona Fighter and Phoenix, Arizona native Doug Moore that lead to a referee stoppage at 1:47 of the second round.  Matt and Doug exhibited a high level of technical ground skill and excellent striking before the bout was stopped.

Nate Patterson out of Las Cruces, New Mexico and 3 Crosses Jiu-Jitsu got the majority decision over Jackson Fighter Ryan Webb at 145 lbs.  The bout was highlighted with very hard striking and fast paced ground work.  Julie Kedzie of Team Jackson and Albuquerque, New Mexico thoroughly dominated Malissa Sherwood of Trinity Jiu-Jitsu and Sacramento, California in a 135 lbs contest.  Julie landed crushing strikes and battered Malissa for three rounds.  Julie won by majority decision.
